The Jim Corbett National Park established in 1936 is one of the Oldest National Parks in India. It is a popular destination too. Aimed at protecting the Royal Bengal Tiger and encouraging Ecotourism this park is named after Edward James Corbett, a British Naturalist. This park is also frequented by tourists from India and abroad. - Garjiya Devi Temple
Situated on the bank of River Kosi this is a noted temple devoted to Devi in the village of Garjiya. The trip is incomplete without taking a dip in the River Kosi. Situated on a large rock, this temple is visited by thousands of devotees during the Kartik Poornima which coincides with Guru Nanak Jayanti during the month of November or December. Access to the Garjiya Devi temple is prohibited during the monsoon season when the water level in the Kosi River is dangerously high.
- Suspension Bridge
Jhula Pal, the 150-year-old Suspension Bridge is an engineering marvel. This bridge is situated near the Garjiya Devi temple across the River Kosi. The temple, the river and the Bridge create a picturesque landscape. Abseiling and River Crossing are the adventurous activities here which could get your adrenaline pumping. This is a must visit spot for Engineers and Adventure lovers. Always tread carefully on this 150-year-old bridge and abstain from jumping, running on the bridge.
- Corbett Falls
Situated on the outskirts of the city at a distance of 25km from Ramnagar, this a very beautiful 20m fall. Surrounded by a dense forest of teakwood this is an awesome spot to spend your weekend along with your family. Although Bathing in the Corbett Falls is not permitted, it is an awesome spot for clicking some amazing photographs with the falls in the backdrop. Birdwatching and nature walks are some of the things you can do around here although walking around with selfie sticks is the most loved activity.
The Corbett Museum is another popular tourist attraction which was formerly a heritage bungalow. The Jim Corbett National Park has got so many things and tourists will never run out of places to visit around the 580 square kilometre greenery.
